Worldwide, more than 500 customers in some 150 countries with more than 45,000 workstations already trust our know-how and proven experience.

Within our Public Transport business, we deliver mission-critical communication solutions for some of Europe's largest railway operators. As a Senior System Engineer (all genders) you will play a key technical role in the delivery and evolution of advanced railway communication solutions for FRMCS projects involving European and Australian railway infrastructure operators. The role combines system engineering, technical coordination, integration support, and customer collaboration in an international environment.

Key Tasks
  • Act as Senior System Engineer throughout the whole project lifecycle for FRMCS projects involving European and Australian railway infrastructure operators.
  • Contribute to the creation of system architecture, technical specifications, integration concepts, deployment strategies, and technical solution design for complex railway communication systems.
  • Develop and maintain project specific engineering documentation and other engineering deliverables based on customer and system requirements.
  • Steer and actively participate in internal and external system integration, qualification and acceptance testing, commissioning and migration activities, collaborating with relevant project stakeholders and driving technical problem solving to support successful delivery.
  • Monitor engineering progress and proactively identify, communicate, manage and resolve technical issues, dependencies, risks, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, project management, development teams, engineering disciplines, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment and successful technical delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and engineering excellence within the project and the wider Public Transport engineering organisation.
Key Qualifications
  • University degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Several years of experience as a System Engineer in complex IT, telecommunications, railway, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in system engineering, requirements engineering, system integration, testing, acceptance, deployment, and migration of software-intensive systems, combined with a hands-on approach to technical analysis and troubleshooting of complex technical systems.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, interface management, virtualization technologies, and distributed mission-critical environments. Experience with 3GPP Mission Critical Services is a strong advantage.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with container orchestration (i.e. OpenShift) in Linux based environments, SIP based VoIP solutions and related telecommunication technologies.
  • Experience working in international project environments with customers, suppliers, and distributed engineering organisations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a structured and delivery-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; additional language skills are considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required by project needs (up to 20%).
