Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our client in the Queenstown region. You will lead structural design and analysis across diverse building projects, ensuring safety, stability, and long-term performance from concept to construction support.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and is capable of collaborating with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural focus.
• Registration as PE or Pr. Eng is highly desirable.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive structural engineering design experience.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for new buildings and modifications.
• Prepare structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
• Collaborate with architects and design team members for integrated designs.
• Conduct site visits and address structural issues during construction.
• Review shop drawings for compliance with design intent.
• Respond to RFIs with timely technical support.
• Assess existing buildings and recommend repairs or upgrades.
• Stay updated on building codes, materials, and advancements.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS and relevant regulations.
