Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Austria is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer Module Design to specialize in designing and optimizing IBC power modules. You will interface with customers to capture requirements and deliver robust power solutions.

The role covers analog/digital circuit design, PDN analysis, and advanced PCB layout, with emphasis on safety, manufacturability, and cross-functional collaboration in the Power Systems division.

Qualifications

• Use Matlab/Simulink, C++, Python, MathCad for design and analysis.
• Create schematics and provide PCB layout guidance for safety standards.
• Develop manufacturing tests and ensure manufacturability from start.

Your Role

You are looking for a new challenge to apply your broad industry experience in power solutions? As Senior Staff Engineer Module Design you specialize in the design of IBC (Intermediate Bus Converter) power modules and directly interact with our customers to understand their needs and provide technical support. Key responsibilities in your new role

• Design, analyze, and optimize magnetics, thermal, and EMI aspects of power systems to ensure high performance and compliance with standards of our Intermediate Bus Converters
• Engage in analog and digital circuit design, including loop compensation and current sharing techniques by performing comprehensive circuit simulations and PDN analysis to enhance power delivery networks
• Develop and optimize data center power systems, addressing fast transient loads and bi-directional power needs
• Work with I2C/PMBus and other processor protocols, ensuring seamless integration and communication
• Utilize software tools such as Matlab, Simulink, C++, Python, MathCad, and Mathematica for advanced design, analysis and conduct all necessary power system measurement
• Create and review schematics, applying advanced PCB layout techniques and ensuring product safety compliance
• Develop and implement manufacturing test metrics and ensure manufacturability from the beginning

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

• University / University of Applied Sciences degree in Electrical Engineering, Informatics or Physics
• 6+ years of industry experience in power solutions, specifically in power modules with deep understanding of data center power systems and all relevant power topologies
• Proficiency in magnetics design, EMI, thermal design and power electronics
• Extensive experience with analog and digital circuit design, loop compensation and current sharing
• Expert knowledge in circuit simulation and PDN analysis
• Skills in dealing with fast transient loads and bi-directional power systems
• Proficiency in I2C/PMBus and processor protocols
• Advanced skills in Matlab, Simulink, C++, Python, MathCad, Mathematica and experience with schematic capture tools such as Allegro with strong capabilities in PCB layout guidance and product safety standards
• Proficiency in FEA, FEMM, Sonnet, and CST software tools

The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H (https://www.feei.at/aktuelles/mindestloehne-und-gehaelter-eei/). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
