Job summary

NXP Semiconductors is looking for an RF engineer to develop NFC RF system concepts and drive specifications for chip interfaces and antenna matchings. You will define test cases and validation plans to ensure compatibility with legacy NFC solutions.

You will conduct simulations (ADS, SPICE, LTSpice) to demonstrate behavior, analyze interference paths, and contribute to standardization feasibility studies. Strong English skills and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering or similar technical studies.
• 5+ years of work experience or more in RF technologies.
• Experience with SPICE-based simulators: ADS, LTSpice, Cadence - Orcad.
• Good knowledge of Matlab and Mathcad.
• Strong English skills; willingness to learn German.

Responsibilities

• Define NFC RF System concept to guarantee interoperability with existing NFC systems at 13.56MHz.
• Write system specifications and verify with simulations (ADS, SPICE) to demonstrate behavior.
• Execute verification and validation plans for NFC and Wireless charging.
• Support Standardization Team on technical feasibility of changes in the Standard.
• Present findings within the RF team and to customers.
• Draft content structure for Application notes.

Job description

Main part of the work is RF concept development for NFC systems with focus of driving specification of chip external RF system antenna matchings and specifying of chip interface signals and defining test cases and validation plans. A proper understanding of magnetic coupling systems and possible interference paths between different antenna systems is needed. Furthermore a good understanding of analog circuits is needed, to define proper specification of analog interface signals for devices working at 13.56 MHz. Target of the specification is to guarantee Compliancy and interoperability to legacy NFC solutions.

Responsibilities

• Definition of NFC RF System concept to guarantee interoperability and coexistence to existing NFC systems working @ 13.56MHz.
• Writing system specification
• Definition and Execution of simulations (e.g. ADS) to demonstrate expected behavior or to show possible limitations
• Supporting Standardization Team to analyze technical feasibility of changes in the Standard.
• Definition of Verification and Validation plan for NFC and Wireless charging
• High level definition of Content and structure of Application notes
• Technical presentation within RF team and to customers

Profile

• University degree in electrical engineering or similar technical studies
• 5 years of work experience or more in a RF technologies
• Experience with following Simulation Tools: Spice Simulator (ADS, LTSpice, Cadence - Orcad)
• Good knowledge of Mathematic tools: Matlab, Mathcad
• Good Mathematical background
• Solid English skills, willing to learn German
• You are already a Team player, proving passion and willingness to learn
