Job summary

IMS Nanofabrication sucht eine Senior Integration & AI Automation Engineer (m/w/d) für die IT & Digital Solutions. Sie verbinden Systeme, automatisieren Prozesse und setzen KI-Lösungen in der Praxis um – von der ersten Idee bis zur Produktion.

Sie arbeiten eng mit dem Head of IT und Business-Teams zusammen, um Integrationen, Python-Anwendungen und maßgeschneiderte Workflows zu entwickeln, zu testen und zu betreiben.

Qualifications

• Abgeschlossenes Studium der Informatik, Softwaretechnik, AI-Engineering oder vergleichbare Qualifikation.
• Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung in Softwareentwicklung oder Systemintegration mit praktischer React- und Python-Erfahrung.
• Fundierte Kenntnisse von REST-APIs, Integrationsarchitektur sowie Authentifizierungsmethoden (OAuth2, JWT).
• Praktische Erfahrung mit AI- oder Automatisierungslösungen in Produktion; idealerweise LLM-APIs, RAG oder Agents.
• Souveräner Umgang mit Linux, Git, Docker und CI/CD.
• Erfahrung mit Workflow-Automatisierung (z. B. n8n); Kenntnisse in Java sowie Jira/Confluence vorteilhaft.
• Strukturierte, eigenständige und kooperative Arbeitsweise; hohes Maß an Qualitäts- und Dokumentationsbewusstsein.
• Starke Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Deutsch und Englisch.

Responsibilities

• Entwicklung und Erweiterung von IMS AI mit neuen Funktionen und nutzerorientierten Anwendungen.
• Design und Entwicklung der internen Aufgabenverwaltung (Maßnahmenkatalog) mit React und Python; enge Zusammenarbeit mit Geschäfts stakeholders.
• Entwurf und Implementierung von REST-APIs und Systemintegrationen; Authentifizierung, Fehlerbehandlung und Monitoring.
• Entwicklung und Betrieb von Python-Anwendungen und Workflow-Automatisierungen mit n8n oder vergleichbaren Tools.
• Evaluation von KI-Technologien, Proofs of Concept und Mitwirkung an der KI-Roadmap.
• Sicherstellung robuster, sicherer und wartbarer Lösungen durch automatisierte Tests, Code-Reviews, CI/CD und gute Dokumentation.
• Administration und Weiterentwicklung von Jira, Confluence und n8n; Anpassung von Konfigurationen und Workflows.
• Technische Ownership von Digitalisierungsprojekten; Prioritätenabgleich mit Stakeholdern; Mentoring von Junioren.

Senior Integration & AI Automation Engineer (all genders)

Connect systems, automate processes and bring AI solutions into everyday use at IMS Nanofabrication. As part of our IT & Digital Solutions team, you will develop integrations and Python applications that support colleagues across the company. Working closely with our Head of IT and business teams, you will turn ideas into reliable solutions—from the first concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance IMS AI with new features and user-focused applications, including agentic workflows.
• Design and develop the internal action management application (“Maßnahmenkatalog”) using React and Python, working closely with business stakeholders.
• Design and implement REST APIs and system integrations, including authentication, error handling and monitoring.
• Develop and operate Python applications and workflow automations using n8n or comparable tools.
• Evaluate AI technologies, lead proofs of concept and contribute to the AI roadmap together with the Head of IT.
• Ensure reliable, secure and maintainable solutions through automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD and clear documentation.
• Administer and further develop Jira, Confluence and n8n, adapting configurations and workflows to business needs.
• Take technical ownership of digitalisation projects, coordinate competing priorities with stakeholders and mentor junior colleagues

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI Engineering or a comparable qualification
• At least five years of experience in software development or system integration, with strong hands‑on expertise in React and practical experience developing Python applications in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, integration architecture and authentication methods such as OAuth2 and JWT
• Practical experience delivering AI or automation solutions into production, ideally including LLM APIs, RAG or agents
• Proficiency with Linux, Git, Docker and CI/CD
• Experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n; knowledge of Java and Jira/Confluence administration is an advantage
• A structured, independent and collaborative approach, with sound architectural judgement and a strong focus on quality and documentation
• Strong communication skills in German and English, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
