Job summary

SOS Children’s Villages International is seeking a Finance & Controlling Advisor (Humanitarian Action) to strengthen budgeting, financial oversight and reporting for large-scale interventions. The role supports the International Development Support and Federation Secretariat units, enabling sound financial management across NOs and partners.

You will lead budget planning, monitoring and tools development, while building capacity of finance staff and ensuring compliance with donor requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is an advantage.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in finance operations or financial management.
• At least 3 years in international or humanitarian context.

Responsibilities

• Budget development support for large-scale humanitarian interventions.
• Manage the HS Action Team budget, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Monitor financial operations across member associations and report findings.
• Develop and maintain financial tools, templates, and formats.
• Capacity building of finance staff through coaching and training.
• Coordinate funding transfers and cash-flow planning with partners.
• Produce consolidated financial data and analyses for the portfolio.
• Safeguarding responsibilities and adherence to the Code of Conduct.
