Job summary

United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Vienna seeks a financial management specialist to support Global Environment Facility projects and partner agreements. You will work with the project team on budget monitoring, reporting and compliance to ensure timely, accurate financial milestones are met.

The role requires a master’s in accounting/finance, plus experience with SAP and a strong focus on audits, risk management and knowledge sharing across teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional accounting certification is desirable (ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Fluency in English; other UN official languages desirable.

Responsibilities

• Financial review of partner submissions for accuracy, eligibility and conformity with budgets.
• Budget monitoring, variance analysis and cash-flow oversight for projects.
• Support risk management, audits and evaluation activities and follow-up.
• Maintain financial tracking, reports and dashboards for project portfolios.
• Provide guidance on reporting requirements and financial procedures to partners.
