Job summary

BD is seeking a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer in the Vienna area to ensure quality of our medical technology software. You will perform a mix of manual and automated testing, collaborate with developers and product owners, and contribute to continuous improvement within cross-functional Scrum teams near Vienna.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, experience in test automation, and fluency in English. Hybrid work options and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Professional experience as Test Engineer or similar role.
• Experience with test automation tools (Cypress, Playwright) and scripting languages (TypeScript, Python).
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and quickly understand new domains.
• Fluent in English.
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Test User Stories and Bugs: validate features and verify fixes against specs.
• Exploratory Testing to uncover issues and improve quality.
• Automated Testing: write and maintain Cypress tests for regression/functional testing.
• Manual Test Execution: execute manual tests per Program Increment.
• Defect Reporting: document defects with clear repro steps and coordinate with developers.
• Continuous Improvement: contribute to testing processes, tools, and frameworks.
• Collaborate daily with Vienna-based developers, product owners, and requirement engineers.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
