Job summary

BD is seeking a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer in the Vienna area to ensure quality of our medical technology software. You will perform a mix of manual and automated testing, collaborate with developers and product owners, and contribute to continuous improvement within cross-functional Scrum teams near Vienna.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, experience in test automation, and fluency in English. Hybrid work options and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

• Experience with test automation tools (Cypress, Playwright) and scripting languages (TypeScript, Python).

• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

**About the role**

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Software Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the quality and reliability of our software products through a combination of manual and automated testing. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and other team members to identify issues early and deliver seamless user experience. You will collaborate within cross-functional, international, and highly motivated Scrum teams to turn vision into reality.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Test User Stories and Bugs: Validate implemented features and verify bug fixes against product specifications.

• Exploratory Testing: Perform ad-hoc testing to uncover unexpected issues and improve product quality.

• Automated Testing: Write, maintain, and enhance automated test cases in Cypress for regression and functional testing.

• Manual Test Execution: Execute manual test cases once per Program Increment.

• Defect Reporting: Document and report defects with clear reproduction steps and collaborate with developers for resolution.

• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to improving testing processes, tools, and frameworks.

• Collaborating daily with developers, product owners and requirement engineers based in and around Vienna.

• Participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to keep the team focused on delivering high-quality increments.

Must-haves

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field - or equivalent work experience

• Professional experience as a Test Engineer, Software Quality Engineer, or similar role.

• Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g. Cypress, Playwright) and scripting languages (e.g. TypeScript, Python).

• Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and quickly understand new, complex domains.

• Fluent in English.

• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in healthcare, ideally medical device software, and familiarity with regulatory standards.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with performance testing.

Theminimummonthly gross salary for this positionis €3.954,00(full-time basis; 38,5 h) (monthly full-time basis, based on ST1/Regelstufe 2026 IT KV). Based on individual skills and experience, we offer appropriate additional payment.
