Job summary

Infineon Technologies Austria AG in Villach invites a Principal Engineer for Functional Verification to shape the future of semiconductor solutions. Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in ASIC verification with end-to-end IP/SoC ownership.
• Strong expertise in UVM and verification EDA toolchain.
• Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) and security standards (ISO 21434) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python, Tcl, or similar scripting languages; experience applying AI/ML to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Drive verification activities across the entire development cycle from planning to sign-off.
• Own verification plans and lead cross-team review meetings.
• Contribute hands-on to IP and SoC verification (UVM).
• Build, migrate, and maintain scalable verification environments.
• Develop testbenches for digital, behavioral, and mixed-signal contexts.
• Lead debugging, root-cause analyses and closure.
• Apply generative AI to speed up verification workflows.

Your role

Your profile

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• At least 10 years of professional experience in ASIC verification, including end-to-end ownership of IP and SoC verification activities
• Strong expertise in UVM and verification EDA toolchain, AMS verification and cross-skill development
• Solid understanding of functional safety (ISO 26262) and security standards (ISO 21434) is considered an advantage
• Proficiency in Python, Tcl, or comparable scripting languagesProven experience applying AI/ML technologies to improve engineering efficiency and productivity
• Technical team lead or project management experience is a plus
• Excellent English communication skills; German language skills are an advantage

The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group I. The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
