Zusammenfassung

TU Wien invites applications for a part-time PhD student position in the THz-Electronics Group. The project focuses on THz RTD oscillators and detectors, with a strong emphasis on research in THz electronics. The successful candidate will contribute to experiments, data analysis and dissemination of results through top journals and conferences.

The role supports PhD completion within 1 year initially, extendable up to 3.5 years. Start expected November 2026, 30 hours/week.

Qualifikationen

  • MSc or completed MSc by start of contract in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • Strong foundation in high-frequency electrical engineering or physics of electronic/optoelectronic devices.
  • Prior experience with semiconductor technology, nano/micro-fabrication, THz or high-frequency measurements and electromagnetic simulations is an advantage.
  • Motivation to complete PhD within project timeframe.
  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Interest and enthusiasm for research.
  • Knowledge of German not required.
  • Excellent English.
