Job summary

SQUER is seeking an experienced data engineer to own large-scale legacy-to-cloud migrations and Databricks architecture in Vienna. You will lead discovery, design robust pipelines, and ensure data quality across heterogeneous systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering with large legacy-to-cloud migrations
• Hands-on mastery of Databricks ecosystem: Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and CI/CD tooling
• Experience in discovery/assessment to translate gaps into requirements
• Data quality frameworks and automated validation at scale
• Clear communication of risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with AI-assisted data workflows is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale migration projects from legacy systems into cloud/lakehouse targets
• Design and implement Databricks pipelines and CI/CD deployment
• Own data modeling, schema mapping, and reconciliation across systems
• Lead discovery and assessment, turning ambiguity into concrete requirements
• Establish data quality frameworks and automated validation
• Proactively surface risks and communicate with stakeholders
