Zusammenfassung

RHI Magnesita in Vienna is seeking a Senior Databricks Platform Architect to own and evolve the Databricks platform. You will work hands-on, guide architecture decisions, and drive production readiness while collaborating with Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, and partners.

You will evaluate new capabilities, implement Lakeflow and Unity Catalog, and build robust data processing pipelines in Spark and Python within a secure Azure environment.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of hands‑on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark and Python.
• Strong understanding of Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake and distributed data processing.
• Experience designing or operating enterprise data platforms in Azure.
• Good knowledge of Unity Catalog, platform security, governance and CI/CD.
• Ability to balance architecture decisions with hands‑on implementation.
• Pragmatic mindset with ability to take technical ownership and make decisions.

Aufgaben

• Building, configuring, and continuously improving the Databricks platform with emphasis on scalability and production readiness.
• Introducing and implementing Databricks capabilities including Lakeflow, Unity Catalog and Spark Declarative Pipelines.
• Developing scalable Python and Spark frameworks and modern data ingestion architectures within Databricks.
• Optimizing performance, security, governance, observability, and cost of the platform.
• Automating Databricks deployments and platform operations using Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
