Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Catering Supervisor for events in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This hands-on, part-time role requires leadership to manage catering staff, ensure impeccable service, and uphold hygiene standards across diverse events.

You will coordinate with the Event Manager, set up catering stations, and resolve on-the-spot issues to guarantee client satisfaction while supporting a range of functions from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in catering, hospitality or events.
• Strong knowledge of food & beverage service standards and etiquette.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise catering staff during event setup, service and breakdown.
• Ensure high standards of food, beverage, and presentation quality.
• Maintain hygiene and safety across all catering areas.
• Assist in setting up stations, buffets and bar areas as per plans.
• Manage inventory of catering supplies and equipment during events.
• Communicate with clients and venue staff to address needs and resolve issues.
• Train junior staff on service protocols and company standards.
• Monitor consumption and report discrepancies; ensure timely replenishment.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings outlining duties and expectations.
• Ensure tidiness and organization of service areas post-event.
• Adhere to company policies and event operation procedures.
