You will support senior staff with bookkeeping, reconciliations, data entry, and reporting, learn accounting software, and develop professional skills in a supportive, growth-focused environment within a stable retail business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and systems.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work both remotely and in the office in Queenstown.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bookkeeping duties, including recording financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Perform bank reconciliations and other balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable documentation.
• Prepare basic financial reports and schedules as requested by senior staff.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Maintain organized financial records and filing systems.
• Support the accounting team with data entry and other administrative tasks.
• Help in the preparation of tax documentation and compliance requirements.
• Learn and apply accounting software and tools used by the company.
