Job summary

INNIO Group in Austria offers an internship in Product Cost Management (m/f/d) to learn cost-improvement methods and collaborate with engineering, operations, finance and commercial teams to boost competitiveness.

The role supports cross-functional projects under mentorship. Full-time preferred with 20-hour part-time option, and a base monthly salary at the statutory minimum in Austria (2,698.59 EUR gross).

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics or a technical field.
• Strong analytical thinking and numerical skills.
• Excellent command of MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply methods to improve product costs of components/systems (ABC, value analysis, should costing, target costing).
• Deep dive on components and compare technical and cost features.
• Collect and prioritize cost-improvement ideas from different functions (Sourcing, Engineering, Service, Operations).
• Support and lead cross-functional projects under a mentor's guidance.
• Assist with administrative tasks within the Product Line Management Team.

Join our Product Line Management team as an Intern in Product Cost Management (m/f/d). This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in analyzing and optimizing product costs while collaborating with engineering, operations, finance, and commercial teams. You will play an active role in supporting initiatives that improve product competitiveness and drive long-term business success.

Your Responsibilities

• Learn and apply methods to improve product costs of components/systems systematically (ABC analysis, value analysis, should costing, target costing, etc.)
• Deep dive on specific components and compare technical and cost relevant features
• Pro-actively collect ideas with product cost impact from various functions (e.g., Sourcing, Engineering, Service, Operations), evaluate and prioritize ideas based on given criteria’s
• Support & lead the cross-functional initiation of projects under guidance of a mentor
• Support administrative activities within Product Line Management Team

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics or in a technical field (e.g., industrial engineering, mechanical, electrical or process engineering)
• Full time preferred, part time with max. 20 hours/week possible
• First project management experience is desired
• High motivation and ability to work independently
• Clear and precise communication style, feeling comfortable in a diverse, international and very dynamic environment
• Very good MS-Office and analytic skills
• Fluent in English, German or any other languages are a plus
• A valid work permit for Austria is a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach the work permit to the application)

The internship is to be filled as soon as possible for 6 months with a possible extension to 12 months. The basic salary for this position is based on the statutory minimum salary of EUR 2.698,59 gross per month in Austria.
