Job summary

A1 Group seeks an experienced Group Internal Audit leader to oversee risk-based audits, strengthen internal controls, and support governance across the organization. The role operates in a virtual setup with international scope.

You will lead audit planning, approve execution and reporting, review findings, and drive harmonization of audit tools and processes. Fluent English is required; German skills are a plus, and collaboration with stakeholders worldwide is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive (8+ years) audit/internal audit experience in complex, multinational organizations with group-wide oversight.
• Highly recognized audit certifications (CIA, CRMA, CFE, ACCA) and SOX experience.
• Deep understanding of internal control and risk management frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000) and GDPR/IFRS.
• Demonstrated audit methodology expertise and multi-entity/cross-border programs.
• Strong analytical, report writing, and stakeholder management skills with regulatory awareness.
• Proven ability to drive alignment and skills development across diverse international teams.
• Fluent English (C1+) with willingness to improve German for business communication.
• Collaborative, ethical leadership focused on high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• You lead, coordinate, and review the planning of business audits for the whole A1 Group, ensuring annual local audit plans are comprehensive and risk-based.
• You guide and approve the execution and reporting of business audit engagements including ad-hoc, planned, and follow-up audits.
• You review business audit reports across all group entities for adherence to methodology, regulatory obligations, and group standards.
• You oversee evaluation of SOX management testing for effectiveness of group-level and local controls.
• You provide expert review on test documentation, audit evidence, and findings for clarity and actionable recommendations.
• You facilitate development and harmonization of audit systems and tools group-wide.
• You drive continuous improvement of group audit processes, methodologies, and audit universe across the group.
• You perform in-depth risk analyses to identify mission-critical processes and emerging risk areas.
