Salesforce seeks a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to design, build and deploy agentic AI solutions inside enterprise environments. You will lead a delivery pod, partner with a Deployment Strategist, and shepherd solutions from concept to production with data pipelines and KPI visibility.

You will mentor engineers, surface gaps to product teams, and translate business challenges into agentic, ship-ready solutions in a fast-paced, build-oriented setting.

The Lead Forward Deployed Engineer is part of Salesforce's delivery organisation, responsible for designing, building, and deploying agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. In this role, you will lead a delivery pod - partnering closely with a Deployment Strategist to co-build solutions that go live in production environments from day one, spanning configuration, customisation, and full-stack deployment across some of the largest enterprises in the world.

We are looking for a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer who brings a builder mindset, deep production-grade engineering experience, and the ability to lead complex technical deliveries - someone who ships quality code, mentors fellow engineers, and leaves customer teams more capable after every engagement.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

• Lead the design and build of AI agents and experiences that take real actions for real organisations - owning complex technical components end-to-end from architecture choice through to deployed, validated, and observable in production, including agent intelligence design, prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems.
• Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms, and oversee agent performance dashboards and customer Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting to track deployment health and business outcomes.
• Lead Proofs of Concept (PoC) and Minimum Viable Products (MVP) that move from concept to deployable in days - co-building alongside customers and partners, sharing best practices, and enabling customer and partner teams as you go.
• Serve as a senior technical voice in your pod - surfacing platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to product teams, mentoring junior engineers, and partnering with the Deployment Strategist to translate complex customer business challenges into agentic solutions that actually ship.

You're Our Person If...

• You have 7 or more years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with multiple production systems you can walk us through - ideally in an AI technology stack, full-stack development, or working with frontier Large Language Models (LLMs) at scale.
• You have extensive customer-facing technical delivery experience in consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering, and are fluent in two or more of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex.
• You have deep hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering, expert-level understanding of data modelling, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and integration patterns, and the ability to lead technical conversations with customer architects and executive stakeholders.
• You are fluent in English and at least one of German or French (spoken and written), and are excited to travel approximately 25% of the time, working directly alongside customers in a fast-moving, build-oriented environment.

Even Better If...

• You hold multiple Salesforce platform certifications such as Platform Developer I, Agentforce Specialist, or Architect-level credentials, and have deep familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex and orchestration patterns.
• You have expert-level experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery, and a strong track record across specialist AI delivery areas including data engineering, platform architecture, or headless deployments.
