Job summary

fonio, Europe’s market leader for AI phone agents for SMBs, seeks an experienced accountant to own monthly and year-end close, ensure accurate revenue recognition for usage-based pricing, and scale accounting as new entities launch in Austria and beyond.

You will bring 4–7 years accounting experience, Austrian GAAP knowledge, and fluency in English, working on-site in Vienna with the core team, AP/AR, intercompany, VAT and statutory filings, plus a path to equity participation.

Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years in accounting, ideally with audit firm training plus time at a tech or SaaS company.
• Qualified or part-qualified (Bilanzbuchhalter, ACCA, CPA or similar).
• Has owned month-end and year-end close and statutory accounts under Austrian GAAP (UGB).
• Confident handling audits and technical accounting questions.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close and statutory filings (VAT, ZM, Intrastat, etc.).
• Oversee AP/AR, reconciliations, master data and bookkeeping.
• Revenue recognition for usage-based pricing.
• Intercompany accounting and consolidation as new entities come online.
• Write accounting policies and controls for investor due diligence.
• Oversight of billing, payables and payroll postings as volume grows.
