Job summary

fonio GmbH in Vienna, Austria, is seeking a Head of Finance to own the entire finance operation across Europe and the US. You will drive the in-house transition, oversee closings, tax, and treasury, and build a lean, automated finance function.

Lead a growing team from day one with direct collaboration with founders and the leadership team; on-site in Vienna with relocation assistance and equity.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building finance in a fast-growing, international VC-backed SaaS/Tech company.
• Hands-on in closings, accounting prep, and management reporting.
• Deep knowledge of controlling, tax, cash flow and treasury.
• Strong automation mindset using workflows and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting for all entities and drive in-house transition.
• Lead month-end, quarterly and annual closings with detailed reporting.
• Oversee VAT, sales tax, employment tax and intercompany tax.
• Manage cash flow planning, forecasting and treasury activities.
• Build and lead the finance team; partner with founders and leadership.
