Job summary

Roche Austria sucht einen Finance Manager, der als visionärer Co-Pilot des General Managers den Affiliate-Erfolg gestaltet. Sie führen ein interdisziplinäres Team und sichern Finanzstabilität, operative Exzellenz und Integrität, berichtet an den General Manager und den Regional Finance Head.

Sie arbeiten eng mit Führungskräften zusammen, steuern Investitions- und Ressourcenentscheidungen, treiben digitale Transformation, Finanzerische Governance und Risikomanagement voran.

Qualifications

• Langjährige Führungserfahrung im regulierten Umfeld.
• Erfahrung mit P&L-Management.
• Gutes Verständnis der End-to-end Wertschöpfungskette.

Responsibilities

• Strategische Partnerschaft: Als Mitglied des Affiliate Leadership/Enabling Teams Finanzdaten und Marktentwicklungen nutzen, um Entscheidungen zu steuern.
• Finanzielle Governance: Sicherstellung von Buchführung, finanzieller Kontrolle und Compliance.
• Operative Exzellenz: Funktionen Beschaffung, Supply Chain und Site Services managen, Budget‑/Kapazitätsplanung.
• Risikomanagement: P&L-Sustainability, Risikominimierung, Wachstumschancen identifizieren.
• VACC Leadership: Führung und Entwicklung von Führungskräften, Förderung psychologischer Sicherheit.

As the Finance Manager of Roche Austria, you will serve as a visionary co-pilot to the General Manager and a strategic architect of the affiliate’s success. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure financial sustainability, operational excellence, and a culture of integrity, while reporting through a solid line to the General Manager and a functional line to the Regional Finance Head.

The Opportunity

• Strategic Partnering: Act as a key member of the Affiliate Leadership/Enabling Team, leveraging financial data and market trends to guide executive decisions, investment planning, and resource allocation.
• Financial Governance: Ensure the highest standards of accounting, financial control, and compliance with Internal Audit, Roche Accounting Standards, and local regulations.
• Operational Excellence: Manage operational functions including Procurement, Supply Chain, and Site Services, with a key role in the redesign of the Roche Vienna Campus and the local deployment of global infrastructure initiatives.
• Risk & Value Management: Navigate volatile macroeconomic environments to maintain P&L sustainability, mitigate financial risks, and identify emerging growth opportunities.
• VACC Leadership: Model VACC principles to lead and mentor a diverse team of leaders, identify and develop the next generation of leaders, fostering capability building and psychological safety in an agile environment.
• Network Collaboration: Influence without authority by building strong cross-functional and geographical relationships to drive organizational stability and change management.
• Enterprise Thinking: Connects affiliate priorities with the regional and global ambition to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide priorities
• Lead across network and regional initiatives: Influences and leverages networks beyond the finance function to create value and drive impact.
• Digital Innovation: Champion digital transformation by integrating fintech advancements, AI, and predictive analytics to shift the finance function toward strategic advisory.

Who You Are

• You hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics with several years of progressive experience, including proven track of record in senior leadership within a regulated commercial environment.
• You possess a professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACA, CIMA) and have a proven track record of managing a P&L.
• You are a decisive leader who thrives in complexity, with experience leading other leaders and managing cross-functional squads in an agile, high-performance culture.
• You cultivate a deep curiosity regarding inter-functional impacts while maintaining a comprehensive grasp of the end-to-end value chain, from R&D through to commercial finance.
• You are fluent in English and possess the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders with clarity and influence. German is a plus.
• Tech-Savvy Visionary: You possess strong commercial acumen and a passion for leveraging technology and data to simplify workflows and challenge the status quo.
