Job summary

Lam Research Corporation in Austria is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for Lam's etch and deposition products. You will contribute to software tools that support design, infrastructure, and technology platforms.

You will work within a centralized software engineering team, collaborate across functions, document solutions clearly, and mentor junior engineers. Occasional travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience; or Master’s with 3+ years; or PhD with no professional experience.
• Knowledge of OOS/OOD/OOP concepts, design patterns and finite state machines.
• Knowledge of multithreading and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for enhancements and new products.
• Implement new customer requirements and features in existing applications.
• Maintain and enhance existing code base; investigate and fix problems.
• Document solutions clearly with flowcharts and well-structured code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design software programs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring for junior engineers.
• Potential travel to customer sites (less than 10%).

Education

Degree in Computer Engineering / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor's +) with 5+ years experience or Master's with 3+ years or PhD with no prior experience
