Job summary

LSP – Light Sensors & Photonics, a business unit within ams OSRAM, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer for the operation, maintenance and expansion of industrial electrical installations. The role requires designing with EPLAN, managing high-voltage and UPS systems, and coordinating with facilities teams and external contractors.

Responsibilities include on-site electrical work, fault analysis, system documentation, and PLC programming.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification (Befähigungsprüfung) or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in operation and maintenance of industrial electrical installations.
• Deep knowledge of relevant electrical engineering standards.
• Experience with 20 kV power supply, UPS and emergency systems.
• Hands-on experience with high-power power supply and distribution systems.
• Willingness to be on call one week per month (7 days).
• Proficiency in standard PC software and PLC software.
• Very good German and good English skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and supervise new and existing electrical installations and extensions.
• Create electrical circuit diagrams using EPLAN.
• Operate, service and fault analyze electrical supply systems incl. 20 kV, UPS and emergency power.
• Carry out electrical installation, repair and testing work.
• Maintain technical documentation and system data.
• Program PLC systems and energy monitoring with meters integration.
• Support planning and construction projects and coordinate with external contractors.

• Electrical engineering design, implementation and supervision of new installations and extensions to existing power supply and distribution systems
• Design and creation of electrical circuit diagrams using EPLAN
• Operation, servicing, maintenance and fault analysis of electrical supply systems, including 20 kV, UPS and emergency power systems
• Carrying out electrical installation, repair and testing work
• Technical documentation and maintenance of relevant system data
• Operation and programming of PLC systems
• Management and programming of the energy monitoring system, including the integration of energy meters
• Support for planning and construction projects
• Project coordination with other facility departments and supervision of external contractors
• Apprenticeship Training

• Electrical Engineering (Befähigungsprüfung) qualification required, or equivalent
• More than 10 years’ professional experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial electrical installations
• In-depth knowledge of the relevant electrical engineering standards
• Technical expertise in 20 kV power supply systems, UPS and emergency power systems, including the associated power distribution systems
• In-depth practical experience with high-power power supply and distribution systems at various voltage levels
• Experience in the electrical engineering design and implementation of facility systems
• Willingness to be on call for one week per month (7 days a week)
• Proficiency in using standard PC software and PLC software
• Very good command of German and good command of English
• Ability to work independently and flexibly
