Job summary

ams OSRAM’s LSP unit seeks a production technician to support semiconductor manufacturing operations. You will handle material disposition, assist with process holds, and ensure equipment release per instructions.

Collaboration with process, maintenance, and production control teams is essential, along with meticulous documentation in Promis/Xsite/SPC. The role requires technical training (HTL/apprenticeship) and good German (B2); shift work across all shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in semiconductor production or similar environments.
• Proficiency with software interfaces and MES systems.
• Neat, conscientious, and independent work style.
• German language at B2 level; English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Material disposition on the line and deviation handling.
• Evaluation of holds per OCAP rules.
• Release and lock of equipment per work instructions.
• Collaborate with process, maintenance and production control engineers.
• Document activities in Promis/Xsite/SPC and related systems.
• Perform measurements and surface inspections (layer thickness, MIC, AVI).

We are LSP – Light Sensors & Photonics, one of three business units within ams OSRAM, advancing the digitalization of light. At LSP, we go beyond traditional sensing—combining light, silicon, and system expertise to enable digital photonics solutions. Our focus is clear: powering next-generation applications in data centers, AR/VR, mobile and automotive, where light becomes a critical interface for data, perception, and interaction. This evolution marks a shift from components to integrated photonics systems —driving performance, scalability, and innovation in high-growth segments.

• Material disposition on the line (handling/assessment of deviations, execution of special measurements, processing of pilot material)
• Evaluation of holds in accordance with OCAP (Out of Control Action Plan) rules
• Release and locking of equipment in accordance with work instructions, e.g., after maintenance interventions
• Close collaboration with process, maintenance, and production control engineers
• Thorough documentation of activities in the corresponding software systems (Promis/Xsite/SPC)
• Assessment and execution of measurements and surface inspections (layer thickness, MIC, AVI)

• Several years of relevant experience in the semiconductor sector, e.g., as an operator or technician,
  or completed technical apprenticeship or technical college (HTL) with experience in a production environment
• Proficiency in operating software interfaces and manufacturing execution systems (MES)
• Neat and conscientious working style with a high level of independence and a willingness to make decisions
• Good German skills (B2), English skills are an advantage
• Willingness to work in a fully continuous shift system – including rotating shifts – across all shifts (early, late, and night shift)
• Compliance with safety, cleanroom, and 5S regulations
• Willingness to learn and strong problem-solving skills
• Flexible and adaptable
• Team player with proactive communication across departmental boundaries

• Working schedule: fully continuous shift operation with 6 working days and 3 days off
