Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften’s de Groot Lab in Vienna invites applications for a Master’s Student / Research Intern in Computational Biology and Theoretical Modelling. You will develop a Bayesian method to compare single-cell datasets, explicitly modelling measurement noise to reveal true biological variability.

The role combines theory and computation, with mentorship from senior researchers and exposure to state-of-the-art omics analysis in a European biomedical hub.

Qualifikationen

• MSc student or research intern with strong theoretical/quantitative background.
• Willing to learn biological context; no prior biology required.
• Experience in scientific programming and data analysis is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Develop a Bayesian method to compare single-cell datasets while modelling noise.
• Map cells between datasets and learn systematic differences.
• Interpret results in collaboration with experimental groups.
