Reporting to the CEO, you will build a high-performance, multicultural team, align with Operations, Finance and Supply Chain, and travel regularly to support growth across Europe.

An opportunity to drive international growth, building on established market leadership in CEE and accelerating expansion across the DACH region.

Our client is a leading FMCG group with a strong market presence across Central and South-Eastern Europe, an established international footprint and ambitious plans for further growth, particularly in the DACH region and selected Western European markets.

The Chief Sales & Marketing Officer will assume group-wide commercial responsibility and plays a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of the organisation's development.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful executive will lead the international Sales & Marketing organisation, strengthening the Group's commercial position across its established CEE markets while driving sustainable and profitable expansion into DACH and beyond.

The Mandate

This leadership appointment requires a deep understanding of Central and Eastern European markets, ideally experience in branded and white label business, a proven ability to develop business across different commercial environments and the ambition to accelerate growth in Western Europe.

• Commercial Strategy & Growth: Define and execute a group-wide commercial strategy, leveraging established market positions in CEE to drive sustainable and profitable international growth.
• CEE Leadership & DACH Expansion: Strengthen and further develop the Group's business across Central and South-Eastern Europe while accelerating market penetration, customer acquisition and commercial development in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
• Strategic Customer Leadership: Build and expand relationships with major international retailers, key accounts and strategic commercial partners, particularly across CEE and DACH.
• Commercial Excellence: Drive pricing discipline, margin optimisation, portfolio development and customer profitability across markets with differing levels of maturity and competitive dynamics.
• Organisational Leadership: Lead and further develop a multicultural, geographically diverse Sales & Marketing organisation, strengthening performance, accountability and leadership capabilities.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain and Finance to translate commercial opportunities into sustainable business performance.

The Executive Profile

We are interested in engaging with accomplished commercial leaders who combine extensive FMCG experience in Central and Eastern Europe with a strong understanding of the DACH markets and a demonstrated ability to deliver international growth.

• A substantial track record in senior Sales & Marketing leadership within the FMCG industry.
• Extensive commercial leadership experience across multiple CEE markets, ideally complemented by direct responsibility for Germany, Austria and/or Switzerland.
• Proven success in developing and expanding business in DACH, including market entry, customer acquisition, strategic account development and profitable growth.
• Deep expertise in international retail, strategic key account management and complex commercial negotiations across European markets.
• A demonstrable record of delivering profitable growth through market expansion, pricing excellence and organisational development.
• Experience leading multicultural, geographically diverse teams through growth and transformation.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, complemented by an entrepreneurial, pragmatic and hands-on leadership style.
• Excellent English language skills; proficiency in one or more Central or Eastern European languages is highly desirable. German language skills would be a further advantage.

The Opportunity
