At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time regional Bid Director for Light Rail (f/m/d) we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your strategic and operational expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, dynamic, and forward-thinking teammates.

You’ll play a critical role in shaping Alstom’s success by leading the bid process and ensuring alignment with customer needs and internal strategies. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Tender Leaders, Sub-System Bid Managers, and various support functions), coordinate internal activities to influence customer specifications, and oversee the preparation and submission of competitive offers, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of managing tender processes and ensuring compliance with Alstom’s standards, but also lead the development of bid strategies and optimize quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) parameters.

We’ll look to you for:
  • Coordinating pre-tendering activities to identify and understand customer needs and promote Alstom’s solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with Alstom’s rules, including ethics, safety, and quality standards.
  • Defining bid operational strategies, analyzing requirements, and identifying gaps to address customer needs effectively.
  • Managing QCD optimization and obtaining clear commitments from internal stakeholders.
  • Preparing and maintaining tender documentation, including technical descriptions, compliance matrices, and risk registers.
  • Supporting contract negotiations and ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
  • Facilitating a smooth transition from bid to project execution through collaboration with the Project Director and other stakeholders.
All About You

  • Proven success in managing medium to highly critical bids, preferably within Alstom.
  • Strong understanding of offered products, systems, and financial, contractual, and legal aspects.
  • Exceptional team management skills, with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines and challenging conditions.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and negotiation skills, with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • A high sense of anticipation and the ability to challenge proposals for optimal solutions.
  • Experience with partnership setups (e.g., consortiums or joint ventures) is a plus.
