Job summary

ecosio is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our finance team in Austria. You will manage financial record-keeping, reconciliations, closings, and statutory reporting in a remote-friendly setup.

The role emphasizes adherence to local GAAP and SOX controls, collaboration across departments, and support for year-end audits. Fluency in German is an advantage; experience with BMD or Workday is helpful.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in a team and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of BMD and/or Workday is advantageous.
• German language fluency is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Financial Record Management across AR, AP, FA, GL, expenses and payroll related accounting.
• Reconcile balance sheets including bank and intercompany accounts.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings with reconciliations and accruals.
• Assist with VAT, tax filings, and statutory reporting.
• Support internal controls and SOX-related processes.
• Assist in year-end audit and financial statement preparation.

Job Description

• Financial Record Management: Managing, analysing, and maintaining accurate financial records and transactions across accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), fixed assets (FA), general ledger (GL), employee expenses, travel, and payroll-related accounting. This includes processing incoming and outgoing invoices, monitoring payments and receivables, and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded and documented.
• Reconciling Accounts: Preparing and maintaining regular balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, credit card, payroll, intercompany, and other relevant accounts. Investigating discrepancies and ensuring open items are resolved accurately and on time.
• Managing Closings: Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, intercompany accounting, and other closing-related tasks to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting.
• External & Statutory Reporting: Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory and regulatory requirements, including VAT and tax-related filings, statutory financial statements, and reports to national banks, statistical offices, and other relevant authorities. Coordinating with external accounting, payroll, and tax advisors where required.
• Regulatory Compliance & Controls: Ensuring accounting activities and financial reporting comply with applicable local GAAP requirements, internal policies, and US GAAP reporting requirements. Performing and documenting assigned internal controls, including SOX controls, and supporting the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
• Year-End Audit & Financial Statements: Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements and collaborating with external and internal auditors by preparing required financial information, documentation, reconciliations, and audit evidence.

The minimum salary for this position in Austria is 50 000€ / year. Your actual salary will be determined by your experience and location.
