Altimetrik is seeking a Senior Python Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend services and distributed systems with ownership from design to delivery.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Python, and build APIs with Django and Flask, working with PostgreSQL and Redis in a core stack. Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS play a key role in deployment and operation.

Formación

• 6+ years of professional Python backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Experience building REST APIs with Django and Flask.
• Experience with distributed systems and resilient software components.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience writing unit tests and building self-testing, maintainable code.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.

Responsabilidades

• Take ownership of technical initiatives from design through delivery.
• Break down complex initiatives into clear, manageable deliverables.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams.
• Use AI-assisted development tools effectively and responsibly.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python

• Work with PostgreSQL and Redis as part of the core backend stack
• Develop and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Integrate and maintain solutions on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB)
• Write clean, maintainable code backed by unit and integration tests
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance, scalability, and reliability
• Take ownership of technical initiatives from design through delivery
• Break down complex initiatives, including refactoring projects, into clear, manageable deliverables
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams
• Use AI-assisted and agentic development tools effectively and responsibly in daily work

What You Bring

• Advanced English proficiency (B2/C1)
• 6+ years of professional Python backend development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
• Experience building REST APIs with Django and Flask
• Experience with distributed systems and resilient software components
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience writing unit tests and building self-testing, maintainable code
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• GCP experience is a plus
• Strong communication, autonomy, ownership, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to independently manage tasks and break complex engineering initiatives into manageable deliverables
• Practical experience using modern AI and agentic coding tools in software development
