Beyond is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and scale Python-based services powering AI-driven applications for enterprise clients across the Americas. The role is anchored in Argentina with a hybrid in-person presence required one to two days weekly to foster collaboration with global teams.

You will build cloud-native architectures on Google Cloud, implement AI features, and drive high-quality backend delivery across regions, working closely with product owners and delivery teams.

Formación

• 6+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficiency with Python web frameworks (FastAPI/Flask/Django).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and AI features (Vertex AI, LLMs).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous programming.

Responsabilidades

• Develop core backend logic in Python to support scalable AI-driven applications.
• Implement production-grade AI features including RAG pipelines and LLM orchestration.
• Engineer cloud infrastructure on GCP using Cloud Run, GKE, and Cloud Functions.
• Own Technical Design Documents translating business needs into backend blueprints using cloud-native patterns.
• Deploy and automate CI/CD pipelines and IaC using Terraform.
• Collaborate with US product owners and European delivery teams, communicating trade-offs clearly.
• Ensure API quality, security, and automated testing for enterprise deployments.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Python, Google Cloud Platform and AI solutions to join our Americas team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling the backend systems that power complex, AI-driven applications for our enterprise clients in North America.

Based in Argentina, you will act as a core technical pillar for the region, bridging the gap between client requirements and high-performance delivery. You will focus on engineering excellence, specifically in the realms of generative AI and cloud-native architecture, while collaborating with our global engineering teams in Europe.

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Beyond, you'll:

• Develop Core Logic: Write clean, maintainable, and highly efficient code in Python to support high-scale content platforms and data-intensive applications.
• Implement AI Solutions: Build and deploy production-grade AI features, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, LLM orchestrations, and Agentic workflows using Vertex AI.
• Engineer Cloud Infrastructure: Design and configure scalable backend architectures on GCP, utilizing Cloud Run, GKE, and Cloud Functions with a focus on performance and observability.
• Own Technical Design: Author Technical Design Documents (TDDs) that translate business needs into executable backend blueprints using modern cloud-native patterns.
• Deploy & Automate: Manage the full lifecycle of your code, from local development to production, leveraging Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate Globally: Work closely with US-based product owners and European delivery teams, requiring a proactive communication style and flexibility for early-morning syncs.
• Ensure Quality: Champion best practices in API design, security, and automated testing to ensure the reliability of enterprise-level deployments.

Things that will make you stand out:

• Engineering Experience: 6+ years of professional experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building distributed systems.
• Python Expertise: Mastery of the Python ecosystem (FastAPI, Flask, or Django) and experience with asynchronous programming.
• GCP Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, specifically App Engine, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL.
• AI/ML Integration: Proven experience integrating LLMs into applications and an understanding of vector databases (e.g., Vertex Vector Search, Pinecone).
• DevOps Skills: Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Communication: Fluent English skills with the ability to discuss technical trade-offs clearly with both peers and stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• AI Frameworks: Experience with LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Data Engineering: Understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes to support AI model training and retrieval.
• CMS Familiarity: Experience working with headless CMS architectures or Digital Experience Platforms (DXP).

• Certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer.
