Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities, with an AWS-first approach and strong emphasis on CI/CD and developer experience.

You will build and maintain cloud infrastructure (Terraform / AWS CDK), manage CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to data ingestion workflows using Glue, Athena, and S3.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE.
• 2+ years of hands-on data engineering work.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services such as S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda.
• Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS/EKS).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infrastructure.
• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / CDK).
• Own observability stack: metrics, logs, and alerts for data pipelines.
• Develop self-service DataOps tooling and templates for data engineers.
• Lead incident response and perform post-mortems to improve reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers in DevOps and data engineering practices.
