Job summary

General Motors Company in Argentina seeks a qualified Senior Accountant to manage general ledger, monthly close, and statutory reporting under US GAAP and Argentine standards. You will convert local statements to USD, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules, while maintaining SOX controls.

A CPA with inflation accounting experience and advanced Excel and SAP FI knowledge is preferred; experience with external audits, IGJ filings, and data automation will be valued.

Qualifications

• CPA degree required.
• Strong knowledge of Argentine Professional Accounting Standards.
• Inflation accounting adjustments experience required.
• Experience with preparing complete financial statements including notes.
• Experience converting financial statements to USD.
• Experience with external audits.

Responsibilities

• Perform General Ledger and monthly close activities under US GAAP and Argentine standards.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, reconciliations, and supporting working papers.
• Identify accounting risks and unusual balances and escalate as needed.
• Convert financial information to USD functional currency and analyze FX impacts.
• Prepare statutory trial balances and government reports with notes and schedules.
• Coordinate external audit requirements and resolve audit requests.
• Execute internal controls and SOX procedures with documentation.
• Collaborate with Finance, shared service centers, and regional teams to resolve issues.
• Support process improvement and automation using data-analysis tools.
• Provide direction to team with similar responsibilities.
• Research new accounting standards and ensure GM compliance with 10-Q/10-K requirements.
