Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities on AWS.

You will design and operate CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and data workflows, collaborating with data engineers, scientists, and security teams. You will own observability, implement secure and scalable data ingestion, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to architecture

Qualifications

5+ years in DevOps/platform engineering or SRE with data eng experience
Deep AWS core services knowledge (S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
Hands-on with Glue, Athena, and S3 data services
Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform/AWS CDK)
Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab CI

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and Athena views
Build and manage AWS-based infrastructure via IaC (Terraform / CDK)
Own observability: metrics, logs, alerts for data pipelines
Develop DataOps self-service tooling and templates
Lead incident response and post-mortems for data platform outages
Mentor junior engineers in DevOps and data engineering practices
