Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics.

You’ll build and maintain AWS-first cloud infrastructure, CI/CD tooling, and DataOps capabilities to empower data engineers to ship data products safely and quickly. You’ll own the observability stack, collaborate with data scientists and security, and mentor junior engineers in DevOps and data practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering or SRE with data engineering exposure.
• Deep experience with AWS core services (S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
• Hands-on data tools: Glue, Athena, S3 data workflows.
• Proficient in IaC for production cloud environments (Terraform/CDK).
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and data infra.
• Build and manage AWS-based cloud infrastructure using Terraform/CDK.
• Own observability: metrics, logs, alerts, for data pipelines and platform services.
• Develop self-service DataOps tooling and reusable templates for data engineers.
• Lead incident response and drive post-mortems to improve reliability.
