Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities on AWS.

You will build and maintain cloud infrastructure, CI/CD tooling, and DataOps self-service templates to empower data engineers to ship production data products safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with data engineering exposure.
• Deep AWS experience: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager.
• Proficient with IaC tools (Terraform and/or AWS CDK) and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data/ETL workloads.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, etc.) via IaC.
• Own observability: metrics, logs, alerts, tracing for data platforms.
• Lead incident response and post-mortems; mentor junior engineers.
