Job summary

Darwoft is seeking a Senior DataOps / Data Platform Engineer (Contractor LATAM) to redesign and operate a data/AI platform at scale. You will work hands-on across data ingestion, workflows, and governance, while collaborating with Data Eng, Analytics, Security, and Architecture teams.

You will design connectors and ingestion pipelines, ensure reliability, and implement scalable data solutions across AWS, Snowflake, and Python, with a focus on security and production readiness.

Qualifications

• +5 years hands-on data solutions in cloud prod environments.
• AWS data services experience: S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, IAM/Lake Formation.
• Python for data pipelines, automation, data libraries.
• Snowflake ingestion, modeling, performance optimization.
• Orchestration with Airflow or Step Functions; dependencies, parallelism, reprocessing.
• Infra as code with Terraform or CloudFormation; CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Autonomy and senior technical judgment; defend design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evolve data/AI platform components on AWS, Snowflake, and Python.
• Lead architectural initiatives, coordinating end-to-end automated pipelines.
• Evaluate and propose architectural improvements with solid technical rationale.
• Define data governance, security, and granular access control strategies (Lake Formation, IAM).
• Establish engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and cross-org best practices.
• Ensure observability, performance, and scalability of data pipelines and services.
• Collaborate with Data Eng, MLOps, Analytics, Security, and Architecture teams.
• Engage in on-call and platform maintenance tasks to prevent recurrence.
• Provide technical mentoring and share knowledge within Data & AI communities.
