Job summary

Darwoft is seeking a Senior DataOps / Data Platform Engineer to join a scale-up project redesigning a data and AI platform on AWS, Snowflake and Python. You will own hands-on development and operations, building data collectors, ingestion pipelines and governance mechanisms while collaborating with data, security and analytics teams.

Remote LATAM contractor role with 100% remote, full-time engagement, and a competitive USD compensation package.

Qualifications

• +5 years hands-on experience building data solutions in cloud prod environments.
• AWS data ecosystem: S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Lake Formation and IAM.
• Python for data engineering: pipelines, automation, data libraries and testing.
• Snowflake: data ingestion, analytical modeling and performance/cost optimization.
• Orchestration: Airflow or Step Functions with dependency handling, parallelism and retries.
• DevOps and automation: IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD (GitLab).
• Autonomy and senior technical judgment; ability to defend design decisions.
• Ownership mindset and collaborative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and evolve critical data/AI platform components on AWS, Snowflake and Python.
• Lead architectural initiatives and automation, delivering end-to-end value.
• Evaluate solutions and propose architecture improvements with solid reasoning.
• Design and implement data governance, security and granular access using AWS Lake Formation and IAM.
• Define engineering standards, reusable patterns and cross-team practices.
• Ensure observability, performance and scalability of data pipelines and services.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, MLOps, Analytics, Security and Architecture.
• Participate in platform maintenance tasks and incident resolution to prevent recurrence.
• Mentor the technical team and share knowledge with the internal Data & AI community.
