Sezzle LA is hiring a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to design, build, and scale the database platform used across Sezzle applications. This role goes beyond traditional DBAs, combining deep database knowledge with software and infrastructure engineering to create reliable, secure, and scalable systems for developers.

Formación

• 6+ years of professional software engineering, infrastructure or database engineering experience.
• Strong software engineering ability in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) in production.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain a shared database platform for Sezzle applications.
• Establish scalable patterns for how services connect to databases in production.
• Partner with backend teams to improve database usage and migrations.
• Build automation and internal tooling for safer database operations.
• Define and enforce database access, migrations, and performance standards.
• Architect and improve database infrastructure across AWS RDS/Aurora and PostgreSQL.
• Lead reliability initiatives to reduce risk and improve performance.
• Review designs and changes early to ensure reliability and security.
• Create guardrails for migrations with automated checks and rollback plans.
