Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Software Architect to assess our platform's architecture and define a target‑state design for an FDA‑regulated SaaS product. You will lead architectural decisions and mentor remote engineers to ensure compliance and quality.

You will design APIs and data models, drive modernization, and improve CI/CD, security, and resiliency across multi‑language systems in private cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Lead software architect experience with senior technical leadership.
• Strong fundamentals: SOLID/GRASP and modern architecture patterns.
• Experience with layered architectures: DDD, ACL, Hexagonal, clean architecture.
• Experience designing SaMD solutions in regulatory contexts.
• Proven API design, data models, and integration in multi-language systems.
• Experience identifying and remediating technical debt and large refactors.
• Improving CI/CD, security, auditability, resiliency in private clouds.
• Excellent communication to stakeholders and mentoring remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess current system architecture and data flows to identify debt and scalability constraints.
• Define target-state architecture with DDD and clean architecture, align with regulatory expectations.
• Design denormalized storage to accelerate read-heavy queries with trade-off analysis.
• Develop phased roadmap and refactoring plan while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Establish engineering standards, guidelines, and decision frameworks.
• Improve development workflows, CI/CD, testing procedures, and release processes.
• Mentor team, conduct design reviews, and create high-quality architectural docs.
