AgileEngine is seeking a Software Architect to assess our platform's architecture and define a target-state design for an FDA-regulated SaaS product. You will lead architectural decisions, mentor remote engineers, and collaborate with product and compliance teams to ensure scalability and regulatory alignment.

The ideal candidate has proven success as Lead Software Architect or equivalent, deep understanding of SOLID/GRASP, DDD, and clean architecture, and experience designing SaMD solutions

Qualifications

• Experience as Lead Software Architect or equivalent senior technical leader.
• Strong fundamentals: SOLID, GRASP, and modern architecture patterns.
• Experience with layered architectures and DDD, Anti-Corruption Layer, Hexagonal architecture, or clean architecture.
• Experience designing SaMD solutions under regulatory requirements.
• Proven API, data model, and integration design in multi-language systems.
• Experience reducing technical debt and planning large-scale refactors.
• Proven record improving CI/CD and secure, auditable delivery in private clouds.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills for remote teams.
• Independent, disciplined, and principled in approach.

Responsabilités

• Assess current architecture and data flows to identify debt and scalability limits.
• Define target-state architecture with bounded contexts (DDD) and clean architecture.
• Design denormalized storage to speed read-heavy queries with trade-offs.
• Develop a phased roadmap for modernization while preserving backward compatibility.
• Establish engineering standards, guidelines, and decision-making frameworks.
• Improve development workflows, CI/CD, testing, and releases.
• Mentor and create architectural documentation for future maintenance.
