Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a senior software architect to lead end-to-end system design for high-scale applications. You will shape architecture, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure low-latency, secure, multi-tenant solutions across AWS.

This role emphasizes mentoring, ADRs, documentation, and alignment with client requirements while overlapping US business hours. Remote work is available, with generous benefits and a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software development experience with 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
Deep experience designing low-latency service architectures in AWS, including distributed components.
Experience designing to explicit latency budgets (p95/p99) and durable commits.
Experience designing audit/evidence systems: append-only logs and versioned models.
Experience with secure multi-tenant architectures, including RLS tradeoffs.
Deep experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and RLS at data-modeling level.
Expertise building scalable RESTful APIs.
Experience architecting SDK integrations to other services.
Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
Experience modeling capacity and AWS Well-Architected cost/performance projections.
Experience producing architecture docs and ADRs.
Experience presenting architecture decisions in client reviews.
Experience overlap with US business hours.
Bachelor's degree required.
