Howard Financial is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the month-end close for Vacation Rental clients, review junior staff, and escalate accounting judgments. You’ll manage reconciliations, prepare statements, and support budgeting for portfolio-level results.

The role requires 3–5+ years of progressive accounting, US GAAP expertise, and strong Excel skills. This is a 100% remote position with competitive USD compensation and growth toward Controller scope.

Formación

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1–2 years at Senior Accountant level.
• Experience in Vacation Rental, Short‑Term Rental, or Property Management accounting — trust accounting exposure preferred.
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Demonstrated ownership of full month‑end close, not just transactional entry.
• Experience reconciling high‑volume, multi‑property transaction data (bookings, fees, owner disbursements).
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation workbooks).
• Comfortable working across multiple client accounts or entities.

Responsabilidades

• Own full-cycle month-end close for Vacation Rental accounts, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Reconcile owner statements, trust/escrow accounts, and property-level revenue against PMS data.
• Review and mentor Bookkeepers/Accountants on the account, ensuring accuracy before escalation.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet) at property and portfolio level.
• Manage AP/AR cycles and vendor/owner payments via Ramp or Bill.com.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in bookings, occupancy, and revenue data flowing to the GL.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for client portfolios.
• Document accounting procedures for the vacation rental revenue cycle.
