Howard Financial is seeking an Accountant to own daily and month-end accounting for hospitality clients. The role focuses on high-volume transactions, timely closes, and accuracy, with a five‑day close target. You will reconcile multiple processors and work under supervision from a Senior Accountant or Controller.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a high-volume transactional environment.
• Hotel or hospitality accounting experience preferred; extensive high-volume transactional experience in another industry will also be considered.
• Hands-on experience with credit card reconciliations across multiple processors.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Professional English (C1) for direct client communication.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly under hard daily deadlines.
• Curious, self-driven problem solver who researches issues and resolves them independently.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post daily income journals as scheduled.
• Process high volumes of hotel-related transactions with speed and accuracy.
• Reconcile credit card activity across processors against deposits and the general ledger.
• Reconcile daily revenue between Oracle OPERA and Profit Sword.
• Support month-end close within a five-day window with entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies; identify root causes without escalating unnecessarily.
• Communicate with hotel finance teams and staff to obtain missing docs and clear exceptions.
• Prepare reconciliations and schedules for senior staff review.
• Flag process gaps and suggest improvements for faster closes.
