Job summary

Howard Financial is seeking a Senior Accountant to own month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting for Vacation Rental client portfolios. You will mentor junior staff and serve as the escalation point for accounting judgments, while collaborating with Controllers on overall strategy.

In this role you’ll manage multi-property ledgers, reconcile owner statements and trust accounts, prepare period-end financial statements, and support budgeting and variance analysis for client portfolios.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience including senior level exposure.
• Experience in Vacation Rental or Property Management accounting with trust accounting exposure.
• Solid US GAAP knowledge and ownership of full month-end close.
• Experience reconciling high-volume multi-property data.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets with pivot, lookups, reconciliations.
• English proficiency for client communication.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle month-end close for vacation rental accounts.
• Reconcile owner statements, trust/escrow, and property revenue.
• Mentor Bookkeepers/Accountants and validate work before escalation.
• Prepare and analyze P&L and balance sheet at property and portfolio levels.
• Manage AP/AR cycles via Ramp or Bill.com.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for client portfolios.
• Improve documentation of vacation rental revenue procedures.
• Partner with Controller and communicate with client stakeholders.
