Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a hybrid role. You will own the reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities, building and maintaining cloud infrastructure (AWS-first) and CI/CD tooling to empower data teams.

You'll implement pipelines, manage AWS resources with Terraform/CDK, and ensure observability and security across data platforms. Collaboration with data engineers and security teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering with data engineering work.
• Expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, and S3 lifecycle/encryption.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and promotion of data infrastructure.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC (Terraform and/or CDK).
• Own the observability stack for data pipelines with metrics, logs, and alerts.
• Manage container and compute infrastructure (Docker, ECS/EKS, or Lambda) for data ingestion and orchestration.
• Build and maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs for large-scale data ingestion and transformation.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and security teams to deliver scalable infrastructure.
