Job summary

Engg is seeking a part-time Data Engineering & Infrastructure Lead to audit AWS architecture, CI/CD processes, and ETL design in advisory capacity. You will evaluate SageMaker-based pipelines, mentor the team on engineering standards, and weigh managed tooling against custom builds.

The role emphasizes a hands-on, senior advisory approach with 50% time initially, stepping to 25% as needed, and reporting directly to leadership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, ECR, RDS/Postgres, S3, SageMaker, VPC).
• Fluency with Infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
• Proven track record auditing/designing CI/CD pipelines and SDLC governance.

Responsibilities

• Audit AWS architecture across live apps (MAT / Signal IQ, Impact Engine).
• Review CI/CD process and SDLC governance; propose environment separation and release gating.
• Evaluate Claude Code usage for engineering output quality and cost management.
• Advise on ETL/data-ingestion architecture; compare managed tools vs. custom builds.
• Mentor infra build team; focus on AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, and data practices.
• Provide recommendations and technical direction based on audit findings.
• Report risks and readiness to leadership with clear framing.
