AgileEngine is seeking a part-time Data Engineering and Infrastructure Lead to audit AWS architecture, CI/CD processes, and ETL decisions in an advisory capacity, weighing managed tooling against custom builds and mentoring the team on engineering standards.

You will review SageMaker-based MLOps pipelines, guide data ingestion choices, and report findings to leadership, with a flexible schedule that supports 50% to 25% advisory work while collaborating across live projects for Fortune 500

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, ECR, RDS, S3, SageMaker, IAM).
• Fluency with Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Proven track record designing/auditing CI/CD pipelines and SDLC governance.
• Strong data engineering depth for ETL/ingestion architecture.
• Experience evaluating AI-assisted development workflows.
• Part-time advisory capacity with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit AWS architecture across live apps, including ECS/ECR, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFront, SageMaker-based pipelines.
• Review CI/CD processes and SDLC governance, recommending schema/versioning and environment separation.
• Assess Claude Code usage for PR generation, automated reviews, and cost management.
• Provide early opinions on ETL/data-ingestion architecture (managed ELT vs custom builds).
• Mentor infrastructure build team focusing on AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, and data engineering practices.
• Set recommendations and technical direction after audits and report findings to leadership.
