AgileEngine seeks a part-time Data Engineering and Infrastructure Lead to audit AWS architecture, CI/CD processes, and ETL decisions in an advisory capacity. This role weighs managed tooling against custom builds and mentors the team on engineering standards, including SageMaker-based MLOps pipelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, ECR, RDS Postgres, S3, SageMaker, IAM).
• Fluency with Infrastructure-as-code, specifically Terraform.
• Proven track record designing or auditing CI/CD pipelines and SDLC governance.
• Strong data engineering depth for ETL/ingestion architecture decisions.
• Experience evaluating AI-assisted / LLM-assisted development workflows (Claude Code).
• Comfortable in a part-time advisory capacity (50% down to 25%) and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Audit current AWS architecture across live apps and design patterns.
• Review CI/CD processes and SDLC governance recommendations.
• Evaluate Claude Code usage for PR generation and reviews.
• Provide opinions on ETL/data-ingestion architecture (ELT tooling vs custom builds).
• Mentor day-to-day infrastructure build teams in AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, and data engineering.
• Set recommendations and technical direction after audits and changes.
• Report findings and readiness to leadership with risk framing.
