Job summary

Tether is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to own both automated and manual testing for desktop and mobile apps. You will build and maintain test automation, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and ensure reliability across releases.

This role emphasizes AI-assisted QA and cross-functional collaboration with product, development, and support teams. Remote-friendly, with global teams collaborating across time zones.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in QA automation and hands-on testing.
• Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on with Playwright for desktop/web and WebdriverIO + Appium for mobile.
• Experience testing Electron and React Native apps, including on real devices.
• Experience using AI tools in QA and critically reviewing their output.

Responsibilities

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy based on defined criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other testing types.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior.
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlate failures to bugs.
• Identify and expand risk to quality of the product or the process.
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and product release cycles.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in the testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort to promote accurate planning.
• Utilize GitHub to maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts, and facilitate automated quality practices.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.
