Job summary

Bitfinex is seeking an AML Investigator to efficiently adjudicate referrals of unusual activity and ensure timely SAR submissions within regulatory timelines. You will collaborate with the Head of Investigation Team, CCO, and cross-functional groups to mitigate money laundering, sanctions risks, and fraud across a global platform.

Responsibilities

• Investigate referrals of unusual activity and determine risk exposure.
• Support the AML Investigations Team and collaborate with Compliance and Customer Support.
• Develop relationships with industry peers to share best practices and investigative techniques.
• Improve understanding of blockchain technology and regulatory expectations to mitigate money laundering and sanctions risks.
• Conduct SAR/STR filings and recommendations for account closure or fund freezing as needed.
